About the reviewer

Jonathan Reed writes the blog Small Bites and brings a designer’s eye to everyday tech. He’s a London-based graphic designer who cares about details, fit, and real-world usability—exactly the kind of perspective we value when asking for honest feedback.

Why we asked for this review

We share a love for tech, music, movies, great design, and Apple. The difference is that Jonathan is comfortably critical—so we knew we’d get practical notes, not polite compliments. We sent him our Classic MagSafe Wallet and asked him to review it like he would any other accessory he uses.

What he highlighted

Here are the key takeaways from Jonathan’s review:

Leather feel and finish: He described the tan leather as having a “lovely look and feel,” and noted it feels like a true wallet—just adapted to the MagSafe format.

Easier card access: He pointed out that the front lip is lower, making cards easier to slide out compared to Apple’s wallet.

Edges and grip: While the overall thickness felt comparable, he noticed thicker edges and said it made the wallet more “grip-able” on an iPhone 12 mini.

Magnet strength: His bottom line: “the magnet is nice and strong,” and he felt it performed on par with Apple’s in everyday use.

“The leather … has a really lovely look and feel to it.”

“Finally, and crucially, the magnet is nice and strong.”
