Learn how to use AirTag with Android OS

AirTag does not have full functionality with Android devices. This means that you won't be able to set up an AirTag, track it, or receive notifications on an Android device in the same way that you would with an iOS device.
However, if you do have an AirTag and an Android device, you can still use the AirTag to track your lost items. You can do this by accessing the "Find My" network from a web browser, and using the web-based interface to track your AirTag.
Using the web version of "Find My" network, you can do the following with your AirTag:
  • Track the location of your AirTag: You can view the location of your AirTag on a map and see its current status.
  • Play a sound: If your AirTag is within Bluetooth range of any of your devices, you can play a sound to help you locate it.
  • Remotely lock your AirTag: If your AirTag is lost and you believe it's in the possession of someone else, you can remotely lock it to prevent it from being used. In conclusion, while the full functionality of AirTag is not yet available on Android devices, you can still use the tracking feature if needed. To access the "Find My" network from a web browser (such as Google Chrome), follow these steps:
  1. Open Google Chrome and go to the URL: https://www.icloud.com/#find
  2. Log in to your Apple ID account, if prompted. Or create a new one.
  3. Click on the "Find My" app from the list of options.
  4. Locate your AirTag on the map.

How to set up new AirTag with Andriod?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to set up a new AirTag with an Android device. AirTag is designed to work with Apple's iPhone and iPad devices, running on the iOS operating system, and setting up an AirTag requires an iOS device with the latest version of the "Find My" app.
You will need an iPhone or iPad with iOS 14.5 or later installed to set up a new AirTag. To set up a new AirTag, follow these steps on your iOS device:
  1. You need to log in to your Apple ID account. This will ensure that your AirTag can be not located by the owner of the Apple ID account you used to set it up
  2. Open the "Find My" app.
  3. Tap on the Devices tab.
  4. Tap on the "+" button in the upper right corner.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to name your AirTag and pair it with your device.
  6. Logout from iCloud when you'll finish to set up your AirTag.
Once you have set up the AirTag with an iOS device, you can track it from the "Find My" app, or from the "Find My" network using a web browser.
